(I am so incredibly looking forward to this weekend, which I plan to use practicing my new Nikon D5000 camera! Yesterday evening was spent at a fundraising event benefiting the Arctic Children and Youth Foundation, the first of many events to celebrate the Year of the Inuit; many wonderful performances took place, notably by 3-time Juno Award winner, Susan Aglukark and spoken word artist, Taqralik Partridge. Have found that I am quite drawn to spoken word performances, a medium which perfectly captures the lives of Northerners and spirit of Canada's North.
