Four Enormous - Eerie Hands
For many reasons there are hundreds if not thousands of large outdoor hand sculptures around the world, the majority of which seem to be reaching towards the sky in an attempt to escape life below ground. I'm a big fan of all things creepy so thought I'd show you 4 of the best examples. Here they are.
Mano del Desertio

The 11 metre tall Mano del Desertio can be found protruding from the sand in the Atacama Desert, Chile, and has been standing alone since 1992 when it was inaugurated. Made from a combination of iron and cement, the huge hand was designed and built by Chilean sculptor Mario Irarrázabal, the man also behind 'The Drowned', seen below.

Designed by Mario Irarrázabal in 1982, Then Drowned was initially built as a warning to sunbathers about the dangers of drowning in Punta del Este, Uruguay, and I can imagine the sculpture definitely keeping people away from the water. The piece of art was so well received by the public that Irarrázabal went on to make hand sculptures in Chile, Venice and Spain.
Somewhere in Saskatoon

I've found it extremely difficult to uncover any information about this extremely creepy hand's exact whereabouts, but what I do know is that it can be found somewhere in Saskatoon, Canada, quite near the University. I've no idea of the sculptor's identity. Regardless, it's incredibly eerie.
Hand of Harmony

The Hand of Harmony is just one of many sculptures on Homigot Beach in South Korea but is also the most widely recognised. The hand is made from bronze and granite, was built in 1999 and apparently is meant to symbolise 'continuing efforts of all Korean citizens to pursue a better quality of life'. Why it is Healthier to Consume Raw Potatoes than Cooked One
Consuming raw potatoes has more health benefits than cooked one. Because of its high content of potassium, sulphur, phosphorus, and chlorine, undiluted raw potato juice is proven to be effective in clearing up skin blemishes. However, you can get this potato benefits only if you consume potato as raw food because these powerful minerals are converted to inorganic atoms when potatoes are cooked. And, the best way to consume it raw is by taking it as juice. Fresh raw undiluted potato-carrot juice is so nutritious. A cup or two of potato-carrot juice a day is a great help to health problems like skin blemishes and high blood pressure.
Potatoes may help fight against high blood pressure, prevent heart attack, protect against stroke, prevent kidney damage due to high blood pressure, controls appetite and could protect you from certain cancers due to its potassium and vitamin C content. You could get all these benefits when you consume raw potato as juice or just steam the potato.

Potato is still healthy to be consumed as baked, boiled and mashed one but its healthy effects is much lesser than consuming it raw and the easily digestable sugars in raw potatoes are converted to starches upon cooking. Potatoes are not good to be consumed as chips and fries because of acrylamide formation. Please checkout Acrylamide, what is it? for more info.
I got some small facts about potato, did you know that combination of cooked meat and potatoes strengthen the solanin poison of the potato? Solanin is an alkaloid poison that is predominant in potatoes too green in color. I’ve been given an info too that potato is not good for those who are suffering from venereal but I do not know yet its significance behind. And, did you know that consuming sweet potato is much more beneficial compared to Irish potato? Sweet potatoes has one-third more carbohydrates, three times more calcium, twice more sodium and silicon, and more than four times chlorine than Irish potatoes.
Holy Cow Born With White Cross On Forehead
A "Holy Cow" Moses was born last week at a dairy farm in Sterling, Connecticut. Moses was born with an unique "birthmark" that looks like a white cross on its forehead.
His owner, Brad Davis, told WFSB-TV he thought the marking may be a message from above, though he is still trying to worl out what that message might be. Ric Grummer, the chairman of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Dairy Science, told the Norwich Bulletin newspaper it is not unusual for a Holstein cow to have a white marking on its head.
